Bench Jeweller
Job Title: Bench Jeweller / Jewellery Production Coordinator
Location: Romany Starrs, South Lanarkshire
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a talented Bench Jeweller and Jewellery Production Coordinator to join our team at Romany Starrs and become part of a growing brand. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with Romany on a wide variety of projects such as; collection development and fabrication, commissions and remodelling ensuring that each piece meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and is completed on time. You will work closely with Romany who specialises in stone setting and advanced jewellery techniques while having a hands-on role in the design and creative process.
Key Details:
Contract: 3 days per week (8-hour shifts negotiable for the right candidate)
Trial Period: 2 months, with review for full-time
Hourly Rate: Based on skill set
Employment Type: Self-employed
Location: South Lanarkshire
Required Qualification:
- HND qualification in jewellery or a related field, focusing on manufacturing, silversmithing, and design.
Skills and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and schedule the production of customer orders, stock creation, and repairs/alterations.
- Coordinate all commissions and repairs throughout the business to ensure timely delivery.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to track production progress and maintain strong relationships.
- Handle administrative tasks, including intake, quotes, and follow-ups with the retail team.
- Skilled in intricate soldering of small components and fine wire working.
- Carry out jewellery repairs and remodelling.
- Work with various metals and stones using techniques to produce or repair high-quality jewellery.
- Preferred Skills:
- Strong time management and ability to work efficiently under deadlines.
- A sense of ownership and pride in your work, with attention to detail and quality.
- Experience with CAD software such as Rhino/Matrix or Adobe Suite is a plus but not essential.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting clients with custom remodelling and repair requests.
- Collaborate closely with the lead jeweller to learn advanced techniques
- Ensure your work meets the highest standards through consistent quality checks.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at Romany Starrs. Passionate about contemporary jewellery, you'll deliver exceptional service while supporting daily boutique operations. This role involves liaising between bench staff and customers, managing inventory, assisting with visual merchandising, and ensuring timely fulfilment of customer orders.

Contract: 3 days per week (8-hour shifts and weekend work)
Trial Period: 2 months, with review for full-time
Hourly Rate: Above NMW

Role Overview:
We are looking for a passionate Sales Associate to join Romany Starrs, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a memorable shopping experience. You will efficiently liaise between our bench staff and customers, assist in maintaining a warm and welcoming boutique, and support inventory and visual merchandising tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to create a memorable shopping experience.
- Act as a key liaison between bench staff and customers to ensure smooth communication.
- Maintain a tidy, clean store and assist with visual merchandising.
- Organise inventory, including pricing, display, and photography.
- Ensure web orders are processed efficiently and on time.
- Monitor and uphold security procedures in the boutique.
Essential:
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication.
- Ability to work effectively with a creative team.
- Interest in contemporary jewellery and design.
- Availability to work weekends
Preferred (not essential):
- Experience with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms.
- Photography and Photoshop skills.
- Assist in social media scheduling
